U.S. Congressman Darrell Issa, who represents California’s 48th district, recently addressed issues related to government spending and strategic international affairs in a series of posts on social media.

On January 7, 2026, Issa posted, “Taxpayers have a right to know how their money is spent. @amyforsandiego and @bennyjohnson are asking the important questions for California”. In this statement, Issa highlighted the need for transparency regarding taxpayer funds and commended individuals raising such concerns.

Later that day, Issa commented on foreign policy matters with another post: “Now is a good time to look past the simplistic headlines and learn of the strategic importance of Greeneland. I promise America’s adversaries have.” This tweet emphasized his view that understanding global strategy requires deeper analysis beyond mainstream news coverage.

In a subsequent post on January 7, he criticized state authorities’ handling of fraud prevention: “State government didn’t just allow fraud, they facilitated it.”

Darrell Issa has served in Congress since 2021 after succeeding Duncan D. Hunter as representative for California’s 48th district. Born in Cleveland in 1953 and currently residing in San Diego, Issa graduated from Siena Heights University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1976.
