Darrell Issa, U.S. Congressman representing California’s 48th district since 2021, posted a series of statements on his Twitter account addressing issues ranging from fraud detection to the state of the U.S. economy.

On January 22, 2026, Issa commented on regulatory approaches to fraud prevention, stating: “Outlawing fraud detection doesn’t end fraud, it institutionalizes it.” Later that same day, he shared a brief remark: “Imagine that”.

The following day, Issa addressed recent economic trends in the United States. On January 23, 2026, he wrote: “Economic growth is up. Inflation is slowing. Much more work to be done, but America is getting back on track.”

Darrell Issa has represented California’s 48th District in Congress since replacing Duncan D. Hunter in 2021. Born in Cleveland, Ohio in 1953 and currently residing in San Diego, Issa graduated from Siena Heights University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1976.
