Fallbrook homeowners paid property taxes equivalent to 0.7% of their property’s value in the first quarter of 2026, which amounts to roughly 0.8 times the national average, BlockShopper.com reports.

Data show the median sale price for a Fallbrook home during this period was $809,000, calculated from the seven homes sold. The median tax bill in the city reached $6,033 in 2026, representing 0.7% of the assessed median property value.

The national average effective property tax rate was 0.888% in 2024.

In San Diego County, Imperial Beach, Julian and Hidden Meadows posted the top three highest effective property tax rates among local cities.
